Office of Science and Technology (OSTC) at the Royal Thai Embassy, Washington DC, which is under the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology, has been performing as the representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand (MOST) in the United State of America since October 1989. The missions of OSTC are:
  • To keep track and analyze the latest updates of science, technology and innovation in the United State of America and Canada as well as to generate and propose guideline, policy recommendation, and regulations to Ministry of Science and Technology and other related agencies in Thailand. This will help Thailand to increase its proficiency in science, technology and innovation, and its readiness for high competitiveness of the world in the next 5 – 10 years.
  • To seek collaboration in research, development and application from both governmental and private organizations and agencies United State of America and Canada including from the Association of Thai Professionals in America and Canada (ATPAC). OSTC also cooperates with related science and technology agencies in Thailand to initiate collaboration which can enhance productions, services, employment, society and the economy of Thailand.
  • To perform as the representative of Thai science and technology organizations and agencies in participation conferences related to science and technology. OSTC also helps in negotiations related to export supports based on science and technology issues as well as national agreements between the United State of America, Canada and Thailand.

ATPAC was founded in 1991 and registered as a non-profit organization in Texas in 1992. A major goal of this organization is to promote the advancement of scientific knowledge, technology and education in Thailand. To establish liaison and promote cooperation among corporations and related organizations in Thailand, the United States, Canada and other countries.
