Relating to our majority aim is to create a network served as a framework for expanding collaboration between Thailand and USA, therefore, Office of Science and Technology mainly supports Thai institutions, research organization, universities by initiating and forming scientific and technological collaboration with institutions in North America.

The Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN)

The Institute is the foundation of public and private partnerships that will provide the scientific basis for ensuring a safe, wholesome food supply as well as provide the infrastructure for contributions to national food safety programs and international food standards.

Missions

  • To increase the quantity and quality of research, which will provide the basis for sound public health policy.
  • To promote food safety and human nutrition and animal health and production through an integrated academic and regulatory science program. This includes multidisciplinary research, outreach and educational programs, and policy studies.

 

Agreement/MOU
Agreement of Cooperation between Office of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Thailand and The University of Maryland had been signed on March 25, 2006.


The United States Geological Survey (USGS)

The USGS employs the best and the brightest experts who bring a range of earth and life science disciplines to bear on problems. By integrating our diverse scientific expertise, the USGS is able to understand complex natural science phenomena and provide scientific products that lead to solutions. Every day the 10,000 scientists, technicians, and support staff of the USGS are working for you in more than 400 locations throughout the United States.

Missions

  • The USGS serves the Nation by providing reliable scientific information to describe and understand the Earth; minimize loss of life and property from natural disasters; manage water, biological, energy, and mineral resources; and enhance and protect our quality of life.

Agreement/MOU
Memorandum of Understanding between The U.S. Geological Survey of The Department of The Interior of The United States of America and The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency of The Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand Concerning Scientific and Technical Cooperation in The Earth Sciences had been signed on October 28, 2005.


The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)

NGA is a member of the U.S. Intelligence Community and a Department of Defense (DoD) Combat Support Agency. Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, NGA operates major facilities in the St. Louis, MO and Washington, DC areas. The Agency also fields support teams worldwide.

Missions

  • To provides geospatial intelligence in all its forms, and from whatever source-imagery, imagery intelligence and geospatial data and information - to ensure the knowledge foundation for planning, decision and action.
  • To provide easy access to geospatial intelligence databases for all stakholders.
  • To create tailored, customer-specific geospatial intelligence, analytic services and solutions

Agreement/MOU
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) on November 18, 2009. The project called "NGA - GISTDA GEOINT Project Plan: The Establishment and Implementation of GEOINT Capabilities for Natural Disaster Monitoring and Support " is 2-year project which started from November 2009 to October 2011.

Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) refers to the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information to describe, assess and visually depict physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth . The main objectives of the MOU is to develop GEOINT concepts, technical skills, expertise, tools, processes, products, and data, which will foster interoperability and sharing of information for timely support to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR) events.
